Balanced Health Integrative Pharmacy is not your typical pharmacy! As soon as you step into our pharmacy, you will immediately feel a sense of calm and balance. This stems from all the greenery, natural wood, stone and glass that have gone into the design of the pharmacy to the soft music playing in the background and the calm and positive energy radiated by our staff!

Our Focus is Your Health - Nothing Else!

At Balanced Health, we neither sell groceries, lottery tickets, confectionary, stamps, greeting cards nor home health care supplies or equipment (i.e., canes, walkers, etc.). We focus strictly on health and wellness! You might say "aren't canes and walkers associated with health and wellness?" Our philosophy is preventative health and healthy aging, so we assist clients so they eventually may not require devices. We believe that if individuals take a more proactive rather than a reactive approach towards their health, they can age gracefully and live healthy and happily into their senior years with minimal use of devices like canes and walkers. However, we will gladly refer you to the right pharmacy if you are in need of any items or services we do not offer.

At Balanced Health we are a Flu Vaccine free zone - Yes you Read that Correctly!

We do not offer flu vaccines as there are more natural ways of effectively improving your immunity. By having a healthy and robust immune system, one is less likely to have colds/flus, develop allergies, experience poor digestion or acquire other chronic illnesses (i.e., autoimmune diseases, depression, diabetes, etc.). In the event of an illness, you will also bounce back more quickly if your immune system is working optimally.

As an integrative health pharmacist, my personal view on the flu shot is neutral. I do not believe they cause as much harm as some make it out to be, but on the other hand, I do not believe they are as effective as some claim it to be. My wife, my little girl and I have never gotten the flu shot nor do I provide this service as a pharmacist. However, I will fully support a client's choice if getting the vaccine makes the individual feel more at ease.

Say Good bye to "dispensing fees" and the traditional "lick, stick and pour" Dispensing Model - At Balanced Health, my Pharmacist actually asks me questions!

At Balanced Health Integrative Pharmacy, we do not charge "dispensing fees" like other pharmacies. Proudly, we have moved away from the traditional dispensing model still adopted by most other pharmacies. While we still dispense medications like other pharmacies, our main focus is on consulting with clients. We love chatting with you! That is we spend less time dispensing and much more time consulting with you. We learn about your health history and your lifestyle because this information is important in helping us to guide you to improved health. The average time our staff spends consulting and interacting with clients is generally higher than you would find in most other pharmacies. We do charge a "professional fee" which includes the dispensing aspect but more importantly, the consulting and following up aspects of filling a prescription or advising you on your personal health situation. Our goal is to help you with your pharmaceutical prescriptions with the idea that somewhere down the road, you will no longer need to use those same pharmaceuticals or at the very least be using less as we help you get healthy in a more natural way.

Evidence Based or Evidence Biased? - We Believe in Simple Concrete Science Practices

We base our advice on pharmaceutical usage and natural treatments through a combination of both evidence-based medicine and most importantly, clinical feedback/experience with clients and doctors. That is, we want to find out what treatments really work and what does not. We also want to raise the awareness that there are many false claims in both western and natural medicines.

Our clients seek out our services because they are frustrated with their current treatments and are tired of being sick. They want to know about other possible treatment options they have not been able to obtain from their current practitioner and/or pharmacy.

We Work with You on Finding the Cause rather than Filling RXs Aimlessly

Our approach to health management is helping you to find the originating cause of your health issue. That is why we tend to ask clients about their medications, supplement usage and their personal health goal during a visit to our pharmacy. We do our best not to just sell products and/or dispense medications like one may experience in some other pharmacies and health food stores. We take a personal interest regarding your health. We want to provide you with important and useful information with each visit.

Chronic Pharmaceutical Drug Use = Slow Poisoning of Your Body Over Time

Generally speaking, taking pharmaceuticals long term does not really solve most health issues. Many clients report lack of effectiveness, feeling worse or seeing improvement in one symptom but appearance of others due to drug side-effects. On the other hand, we recognize in acute cases or in a specific chronic situation, the use of pharmaceutical drugs might be the best choice for the client. We fully support their usage in these applications as the pros may outweigh the cons. In certain situations, health may be severely compromised without drugs, and we can fully appreciate their application in these instances.

At Balanced Health Integrative Pharmacy, we feel that most people put their bodies out of balance. As a result, early symptoms which are not addressed immediately are likely to turn into a chronic illness down the road if left unattended. One of our goals is to help you identify these imbalances and to help you regain your vitality and health sooner than later.
