FAQ's

 Q: Do you dispense regular prescriptions like other pharmacies?

A:  Yes, absolutely!  However, if you are open to it, our goal would be to encourage you to reduce the amount of pharmaceuticals you have to take if possible and to do it in a safe manner.  Our founder/owner, Integrative Health Pharmacist Peter Lee, has a vision and philosophy which is very different from his pharmacist colleagues.  His vision is to see people come to the pharmacy with prescriptions to be filled, but over a period of time he wants to see the client leaving the pharmacy using less and less medication and ultimately no medications if possible!  This could be in 1 weeks time, 1 month, 6 months or 1 year down the road as tapering off medications can be very complex in some cases.  Please see our page on Medication Reduction Services for more details on this unique and innovative pharmacy service.

Q: Do you offer free delivery like other pharmacies?

A:  This is a service we do not offer though we do provide delivery/courier services for a fee.  The reason being is that we are a educational/consultation focused pharmacy and would like to follow up with our clients in order to help them achieve the best possible health outcome.  Providing a free delivery service does not allow for this as the client does not get to interact with our pharmacist or nutritionist.  We realize free delivery may be convenient and have value for some clients, but unfortunately it does not provide the best pharmacy care to the client.  If you would like to have your order couriered or mailed out we can make arrangements.  However, we do encourage clients to come in person whenever possible.  This allows us to more easily follow up with you to keep you on track with your treatment plan.  It also enables us to help you troubleshoot if there are any issues or if you are not able to reach your primary practitioner.

Q: Do you have more than one location?

A:  Currently there is only one location as we are launching a new and innovative brand of pharmacy!  Because the consultation services we offer are so specialized and the philosophy on drug usage is so different from other pharmacies, it would be extremely challenging to duplicate this into a second location to the same level.  Please keep in mind that pharmacists only get the conventional training in pharmacy school, and it takes many years of training and mentorship outside of the university education for a pharmacist to be able to carry out the consulting services we provide.  Please see the pages Meet Integrative Health Pharmacist Peter Lee and Peter's Definition of Integrative Pharmacy to learn more.

Q: Do you price match?

A:  We do not price match on natural products or prescriptions.  To keep our unique level of service sustainable and at the highest level, we have to follow this policy.  Having said this, we charge fairly and appropriately for the level of service our clients receive for natural products, commercially available prescriptions, compounded prescriptions and private consultations.  We pride ourselves on providing exceptional value for what the client is paying. 

We also offer complementary touch base consults for our regular clients.  In addition we offer one of the best Loyalty Programs in the industry for all of our clients to benefit from.  We are a small independently operated business and do not have the corporate resources and buying power that big corporations have when it comes to offering bottom line prices.  However, we do offer a unique approach to managing health one would not typically find elsewhere. 

Our regular clients value the time we spend with them and the professional expertise we provide.  It is evident that some are even willing to travel to us though they do not reside in the same municipality.  We also have a very short wait time for prescriptions and have the common compounds already pre-made on site for quick turnover which many of our clients appreciate and find very convenient.

Q: Do you sell products online or have a e-Commerce store?

A:  We are extremely proud to say we do not have a e-Commerce store as it detracts from the type and level of service we pride ourselves on providing to our clients.  We realize clients may be able to purchase some products for less online, but it is not something we are looking to compete with as our health and wellness model is quite different from these other companies.  We focus on quality client interaction in our pharmacy rather than high volume online sales with minimal to no pharmacist interaction with the client.  We understand that many retailers are doing e-Commerce and it seems to be the trend these days.  While it may be a convenient way to shop, it does not resonate with our core health values when it comes to educating you about your health and well being.

Q: Why would someone come to Balanced Health Integrative Pharmacy over any other pharmacy or a vitamin/health food store?

A:  Clients come to us because they want to be educated and well informed so they can make the right decision for themselves.  They are looking for personalized service as well as honest, professional and practical advice regarding pharmaceuticals and natural health.

We are not your typical pharmacy or integrative/natural pharmacy for that matter.  We are not just a supplement store either as we have pharmacists on staff that are extensively trained and experienced with natural health.

What ultimately sets us apart from all others is that we strive to help clients use the least amount of pharmaceuticals, to address the root causes of their symptoms/illness and to encourage a more natural approach whenever possible!
